Tags this generator writes

The <title> tag and meta description; a canonical link; a robots meta tag (index/noindex, follow/nofollow); Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:url, og:image, og:site_name, og:type, og:locale); Twitter Card tags (twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description, twitter:image, twitter:site); and theme-color for mobile browser UI. The meta keywords tag is deliberately left out — Google has ignored it since 2009.

Title and description length

Google truncates by pixel width (about 600 px on desktop), not characters, which is roughly 50–60 characters for titles. Descriptions get around 920 px on desktop, about 150–160 characters, and less on mobile. Put the main keyword and the key benefit up front so they survive truncation. The live preview shows how your snippet is likely to look.

Why Google rewrites titles and descriptions

Google rewrites titles when they are too long, stuffed with keywords, duplicated across pages or don’t match the page’s H1, and rewrites descriptions for most queries where another passage fits better. Unique, accurate, query-matching tags are rewritten far less. Write a different title and description for every page.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I paste the generated code?

Inside the <head> section of the page’s HTML. In WordPress, an SEO plugin field usually does the same job; in other CMSs look for “SEO” or “meta” settings per page.

Do meta descriptions affect rankings?

Not directly, but a compelling description raises click-through rate from search results, which brings more traffic from the same ranking.

What is a canonical tag for?

It tells search engines the preferred URL when the same content is reachable at several addresses (parameters, http/https, trailing slash), consolidating ranking signals.

Should I use noindex?

Only for pages you don’t want in search results, like thank-you pages, internal search results or thin tag archives. Never on pages you want to rank.
