Audio Converter

Convert audio files to MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG or OPUS in bulk — no uploads, no sign-up, free.

🔒 Your files are never uploaded: conversion runs entirely in your browser with ffmpeg.wasm.

This tool runs entirely in your browser; your data is never sent to a server.

    How to use

    1. 1Drag one or more audio files onto the page or click to choose them.
    2. 2Choose the output format; for MP3, M4A, OGG and OPUS pick a bitrate.
    3. 3Optionally change the sample rate (e.g. 44,100 Hz) and channels (stereo/mono).
    4. 4Click “Convert”, then play and download each file or get them all as a ZIP.

    Which format should I choose?

MP3 plays on everything and is the most compatible choice. M4A (AAC) sounds slightly better than MP3 at the same bitrate and is native on iPhone and Mac. OGG (Vorbis) and OPUS are open formats; OPUS is especially efficient for speech and low bitrates (64–96 kbps) and is what WhatsApp voice messages use. WAV and FLAC are lossless: WAV is uncompressed, FLAC is about half the size with no quality loss.

    Bitrate, sample rate and channels

64–128 kbps is enough for speech and podcasts, 192–320 kbps for music. CD audio uses 44,100 Hz and video usually 48,000 Hz; lowering the sample rate shrinks the file but cuts high frequencies. Mono halves the size of voice recordings. Converting a lossy file to a lossless format (e.g. MP3 → FLAC) does not improve quality — it only makes the file bigger.

    Everything runs in your browser

Conversion uses ffmpeg.wasm on your device, so files are never uploaded — safe for private meeting or interview recordings too. The engine is downloaded once (about 10 MB). Files are processed one after another, and tags such as title and artist are kept where the format allows. If you pick a video file, its first audio track is converted.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I convert WAV to MP3?

Drag the WAV file in, choose MP3 and a bitrate (e.g. 192 kbps) and click “Convert”.

    Can I convert M4A to MP3?

Yes. M4A/AAC files, including iPhone voice memos, can be converted to MP3 and the other formats.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no fixed limit, but conversion happens in your device’s memory, so more than about 500 MB in total may be slow or fail.

Does converting MP3 to FLAC improve quality?

No. Information lost in lossy encoding can’t be restored; the file just gets larger. Make FLAC files from lossless sources such as WAV.

    Are my files uploaded?

No. All conversion happens in your browser; the files never leave your device.
