Every case, explained
UPPERCASE and lowercase change every letter. Title Case capitalizes the main words and keeps short words like a, an, the, and, of, in lowercase unless they start the title. Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence, which is the style most UX writing and Google’s own guidelines prefer for headings. For code: camelCase (userName) for JavaScript variables, PascalCase (UserName) for classes and components, snake_case (user_name) for Python and database columns, kebab-case (user-name) for URLs and CSS classes, and CONSTANT_CASE (USER_NAME) for constants and environment variables. aLtErNaTe and iNVERSE cases are there for fun or fixing text typed with Caps Lock on.
Language-aware conversion
Naive converters break non-English text. In Turkish and Azerbaijani, lowercase i becomes İ (dotted capital) and I becomes ı (dotless) — “istanbul” must become “İSTANBUL”, not “ISTANBUL”. German ß uppercases to SS. This tool uses locale-aware conversion for the language you select, and title-case small words are matched per language.
Title case styles
Style guides disagree on details: AP capitalizes words of four letters or more, Chicago lowercases all prepositions regardless of length. This tool follows the common rule of keeping articles, short conjunctions and short prepositions lowercase. For a specific publication, check the result against its style guide — especially words like “with”, “from” and “about”.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert uppercase to lowercase without retyping?
Paste the text and click “lower case” (or “Sentence case” to keep the first letter of each sentence capitalized), then copy the result.
What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?
Title Case capitalizes most words (“How to Write a Great Headline”); Sentence case capitalizes only the first word and proper nouns (“How to write a great headline”).
What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
camelCase starts lowercase (myVariable), PascalCase starts uppercase (MyVariable). Both remove spaces and capitalize each following word.

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser.
