How exact age is calculated
Age is counted in completed years, then completed months, then the remaining days. Someone born on 15 March 1990 is 36 years, 6 months and 21 days old on 6 October 2026. Months have different lengths, so the calculator works with real calendar dates rather than averages, and leap years are handled automatically — people born on 29 February have their birthday on 28 February or 1 March in non-leap years, depending on the convention used.
Totals, birthdays and zodiac signs
Besides your age, you get the total number of months, weeks, days and hours you have lived, a live countdown to your next birthday and the weekday it falls on. The Western star sign comes from your day and month of birth; the Chinese zodiac animal comes from your birth year — note that the Chinese year starts in late January or February, so January and early February birthdays may belong to the previous animal.
Hijri age
Because a Hijri year is about 11 days shorter than a Gregorian year, your age in Hijri years is slightly higher — roughly one extra year for every 33. You can enter your birth date in either calendar and see both ages.
